Dedra has been employed at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, Huntsville, Alabama since November of 2007. She is an Executive Assistant to the Director of Educational Outreach, Dr. Neil Lamb. Dedra also supports the Educational Outreach team in administrative, scheduling, meeting logistics and purchasing areas. She serves on the HudsonAlpha Activities Committee, which is designed to facilitate interaction and build relationships across the institute.

After joining IAAP in 2008, she received her Certified Administrative Professional rating in May 2009.

During the past two years Dedra has been focused on supporting the rapidly expanding programming at HudsonAlpha. Having established those roles and responsibilities and obtained her CAP rating, she looks forward to helping the IAAP Huntsville Chapter. She is especially excited about serving in leadership positions, mentoring and promoting certification.

Dedra is extremely grateful for the support of her family, employer and team members as well as her peers in the Huntsville IAAP Chapter during the past two years.
